Picasso's Playmates:  Ages 2-5 with and adult

This is a child directed, open-ended art class for the young child to enjoy with an adult.We encourage the children to explore art in a safe messy environment, to create projects with different  media. This fun class opens the door to art and creativity for  everyone.  All projects are age appropriate, however some will need the help of an adult from time to time so wear your
play-clothes to art class!

Children's Fine Art Classes: Ages 5- 18

This is a directed class for children to learn how to draw.  We start by using basic shapes to create our drawings.  Children are taught how to recognize placement, size difference and perspective in a fun friendly environment.  Everyone starts at the beginning and is individually taught in a group setting so each student progresses at their individual ability rate.  We want to give our students a firm foundation in art so they can take what they learn out into the world making it a more beautiful place, as well as building self esteem and confidence.

Adult Fine art Classes: 

This class offers adults the chance to learn how to draw and paint.  We teach a solid foundation for drawing, value, and color so anyone can draw what they see.  Many adults lack confidence in their ability to draw so our motto is, "We will be your confidence until yours grows!"  Our adult students, after completing the drawing level, then choose the media they would like to learn.

Story Craft: Ages 2-6

This class is modeled after our Picasso's Playmates class with a twist.   We introduce our students to great children's literature and then do fun messy art projects based on the story.  This is fun for all ages and the adult helpers love it as much a do the children.  This class is offered through the Santa Clarita Parks and Recreation Dept. but other classes may form with interest in enrollment.

Big Bear Lake:

Fine art classes are available to the children of the Big Bear Valley through the parks and recreation district. Classes are held each Friday throughout the year. Contact Michelle at 909-866-9700 to enroll.
